- Speaker: Dr Lisa Schimanski, CEO, Volunteering Tasmania
The State of Volunteering in Tasmania Report 2019 captures and quantifies the evolving nature of volunteering. The report observes the changing characteristics of Tasmanian volunteers through a population based survey. It recognises the changing needs and challenges of volunteer-involving organisations through a survey. The costs, benefits and overall social, cultural and economic value of volunteering to the state are quantified through a return-on-investment analysis. Lisa will discuss why Volunteering Tasmania undertook this work, the methodology used, key stakeholders, important findings, how this builds on their previous research, and overall the impact of the report and what it means for the future of volunteering. Importantly, Lisa will encourage you with what this research could mean if undertaken here in Queensland and why other states and territories need to get involved.
